About Current Accounts
A Current Account
can also be referred to as a giro account or personal account. It
is held by a credit institution to which access can be obtained
at virtually any time, by paying in money, withdrawing cash, arranging
bank transfers or writing cheques. In most cases, a current account
provides an opportunity for arranging a credit facility.
Normally
the account holder receives an EC card or a Bank customer card which
enables them to make use of self service facilities, such as cashpoints
or bank statement printers.
