Ashburton are the asset management division of FirstRand International Asset Management Limited (‘FRIAM’). They are centred on Jersey, the largest of the Channel Islands. They provide discretionary investment management for over 6,000 clients in sixty countries, comprised of investment companies, corporate and personal trust funds and private individuals.

Their core investment philosophy is based on a long-term approach. Ashburtons' fundamental aims are to preserve capital, minimise risk and volatility and, achieve consistent results. Their investment team makes its own macro-economic analysis of global growth patterns, inflation, exchange rate and interest rate trends and allocates assets internationally in a meticulously controlled manner.

Ashburton was established in 1982 and their conservative approach has proved extremely successful. The investment results achieved have equalled or bettered those of many other international investment managers who have not offered security of a low-risk strategy. As a further level of security, each client’s investments are held by independent custodians.
