The
Alliance Trusts consist of inter-related companies dedicated to
providing a long term store of value for the stockholders of The
Alliance Trust PLC and The Second Alliance Trust PLC.

total commitment to shareholders
Originally formed by wealthy investors looking for outlets for their
own surplus capital, the Alliance Trusts continue to provide succeeding
generations of stockholders with a means of investment operated
solely for the benefit of those who invest in them.
Investment management is carried out by the Trusts' own staff, not
an investment house which has also to maximise its own profits;
the approach is low key with no "star manager" culture
and the emphasis is on solid returns over the long term.

Their expense ratio is very low.
Alliance
Trusts are a financial organisation dedicated to providing investors
with a core investment and an efficient means of holding it. The
core investment is in the form of the stock of the Alliance Trust
and the Second Alliance Trust whose aim is to provide an investment
for those who wish to build up a long term store of increasing value.
Alliance Trust Savings, the FSA regulated company which the Trusts
own, provides savings products (ISAs, PEPs, Investment and Pension
Plans) as a convenient and efficient means to hold investments.
Conceived
originally as a means of holding the Trust stock, individuals, trustees
and others can now use these savings products to invest in, hold
and administer investments according to their own requirements alongside
an investment in one of the Trusts. Currently investors can choose
from 1,500 securities. For added flexibility, an investor can choose
to keep cash on deposit as the company which provides these plans,
Alliance Trust Savings, is also a bank. Our Select Pensions, ISAs,
PEPs and Investment Plans have these common elements.
