The Association of Investment Trust Companies Company ( AITC
)
The Association of Investment Trust Companies ( AITC ) is
the non-profit making trade body of the investment trust industry
and was formed in 1932. Investment trusts are the oldest type of
collective investment.
AITC
represent investment trust companies and their shareholders but
also work closely with the management groups that administer the
companies. The individual trusts provide their funding, and their
activities are focused on providing value to them and their shareholders.
One
thing AITC cannot do is give investment advice, but they welcome
any other questions or suggestions.
AITC
speak on behalf of investment trusts in five main ways.
- Raising
awareness and communicating the benefits of investment trusts
to consumers
- Providing
education, information and training on investment trusts to financial
advisers
- Providing
statistical information to existing and prospective shareholders
- Lobbying
policy makers on behalf of the investment trust sector
- Working
with member companies to maintain high standards within the industry.
