The Bank of Cyprus Company
The
Bank of Cyprus was first an established presence in the UK as a
branch of the Group in 1955, with the objective of providing banking
services to the growing UK Cypriot community. By 1960, the Group
had gained a UK banking licence under it's newly-formed subsidiary
- Bank of Cyprus ( London ) Ltd.
A this
time the UK was home to the largest number of expatriate Cypriots
and continues to be the island's main trading partner. The Bank
of Cyprus (London) Limited is now holding the position of market
leader within the community and is competing strongly in one of
the world's most dynamic and sophisticated financial markets.
The
Bank of Cyprus ( London ) Limited employs some 260 staff in the
UK the Bank's network spans North, South and Central London, Birmingham
and Manchester. The bank operates two dedicated business lines focused
respectively on Business and Corporate Banking. Complementing the
business side, the Bank services the deposit and investment needs
of both its resident and nonresident personal customers.
Apart from its seven branches, the The Bank of Cyprus ( London )
Limited has three dedicated business centres in London ( Palmers
Green and Camberwell ) and Birmingham. The Bank's Corporate Banking
unit in central London handles larger and more complex business
requirements.
The Bank of Cyprus ( London ) Limited also operates a Treasury unit
providing foreign exchange. Front-line activities are supported
by a centralised operations facility in Southgate. The Bank since
1999, has been an appointed representative of Legal & General,
a leading UK investment group. Through qualified financial advisers
the The Bank of Cyprus provides a full range of Legal & General
pension, investment and protection products to cater for its customers'
bancassurance requirements. In addition to Bank of Cyprus ( London
) Ltd, the Group operates a branch in the UK which is geared towards
servicing the needs of it's corporate customers. The branch was
established in 1997.
