is a Barclaycard and can be used to pay for goods and services in
more than 22 million places in over 200 countries and to withdraw
cash from over 600,000 ATMs and banks worldwide.
Barclaycard was set up in 1966 and was the UK's first credit card,
and is now the UK's leading card services provider on the Internet.
More than 800,000 customers regularly use Barclaycard's online account
services.
In 1995 Barclaycard launches Barclaycard Gold and Barclaycard Sense
cards - Barclaycard is the first credit card company to go onto
the Internet with Barclaycard Netlink - Barclaycard launches BarclaySquare
– the UK's first Internet shopping mall
In 1997 Barclaycard is the first UK credit company to permit bills
to be paid over the internet
In 1999 Barclaycard launches the Platinum card
In 2001 A new website is launched for online customers - Launch
of ShopSmart - internet shopping site - Barclaycard announce three-year
sponsorship of FA Premiership - LivingLand is launched.

also sponsors the Young People's Trust for the Environment –
designed to promote environmental education to UK school children
