The
European Financial Services Venture Fund (EFSVF) was Europe's first
venture capital fund (that we know of) focused on backing revolutionaries
with radical business models who will provide better, faster, cheaper
products and services to Europe's consumers who feel as if they
are being "ripped off" by the entrenched players. It will
also back companies that provide products and services (e.g. software,
outsourcing and other services etc) to the sector's revolutionaries
and established players. Catalyst's second financial fund was launched
in September, 2002.
In November 2002, in conjunction with The Big Issue, Catalyst launched
its first fund in the social sector. It seeks to apply Catalyst's
principles to investment within the social sector (e.g. organic
food, alternative energy, training, public service outsourcing etc).
Catalyst's
second financial fund and Catalyst's first social fund are aimed
solely at Qualified Institutional Investors.
