About
The Cochabamba Project Society
The society is registered with the Financial Services Authority
(no 30642R) as an Industrial Provident Society For The Benefit Of
The Community. They believe it is the first IPS to be established
for the purpose of conducting a community forestry enterprise and
also the first to identify a target community beyond the UK.
Shareholders are also members of the society and are entitled to
one vote and only one vote, no matter how many shares they hold.
Shares cannot
be sold or transferred to another person or organisation but they
can be redeemed to the society at their face value or less.
This
means that the aims and values of the society cannot be compromised
and that the value of members' shares is not subject to market volatility.
