Travel Insurance was established in late 1992, and commenced trading
in 1993. Since that time they have insured over two and a half million
people and they are still growing. Direct Travel Insurance think
they are different to the hundreds of other travel insurance providers
in the UK today. They sometimes get it wrong, but thankfully not
often, and they always put it right.
Direct Travel Insurance personally answer 99% of all inbound telephone
calls during their office hours (09:00 to 20:00, seven days a week)
with an average response time of 9 seconds. If you're one of the

They
design travel insurance products and offer these for sale via their
call centre in West Sussex and their web site. Direct Travel Insurance
advertise in the classified travel section of most of the national
press every week. And they have only ever used what they think are
the best insurers.
Why,
when this invariably costs them a little more than using lesser-known
insurance companies? They don't want to perpetuate the age-old view
about insurance companies being happy to take your money but never
wanting to pay your claim. So they design their products without
some of the exclusions you'll find from other suppliers and they
insure you with people you can respect. Like AXA, Europe's leading
insurer and the largest travel insurer in the UK.

Council (GISC), the regulatory body for sellers of general insurance.
GISC is primarily concerned with ensuring you are treated fairly
and honestly and to encourage the highest possible standards. Membership
of GISC is voluntary; they joined earlier rather than later because
Direct Travel Insurance believe business should be conducted this
way. And they hope, within the faceless environment of the internet,
this will allow you to have a little more confidence in them.
