Edinburgh Fund Managers was founded in 1969 and listed on the London
Stock Exchange since 1987. As a specialist investment management
house they aim to be a leading provider of investment services for
institutional and private investors.
On
24 October 2003, the Board of Edinburgh Fund Managers Group plc
announced the company's takeover by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC.
The combination of Edinburgh Fund Managers and Aberdeen Asset Management
creates one of the largest investment trust managers in the UK and
they anticipate that enlarging and strengthening the investment
trust business will provide added benefits to their investors in
the future.
Aberdeen
Asset Management has sold Edinburgh Fund Managers retail open ended
investment companies and unit trust mandates to New Star Asset Management
Group Ltd. These funds transferred to New Star on 31 October 2003.
