About
The Factoring Services Group Company ( FSG )
The
Factoring Services Group exists to provide independent motor factors
with a total package of business support services.
Since
its foundation in 1974 it has evolved into the United Kingdom's
foremost organisation solely dedicated to the interests of the independent
distributor. It is respected throughout Europe as an ethical and
professional organisation and in 1990 was a founder member of Group
Auto Union, international business group made up of bodies similar
to the FSG.
Membership has grown to well over 300 factors across the UK and
Ireland, accounting for nearly 600 points of sale and supported
by 120 approved supplier partners.
From
its central office located in North Yorkshire, the FSG negotiates
preferential buying terms and dividends on behalf of members and
provides a wide range of business management and support functions,
many of which are also available to approved suppliers.
The
nature of independent motor factoring necessitates members carrying
out three distinct functions: Buying, Selling and Management. The
Factoring Services Group is therefore structured in such a way as
to provide support across all three areas.
The Factoring Services Group is now a subsidiary of Alliance Automotive
International, a European group with major interests in the automotive
aftermarket, who are known in France as Alliance Industries.
The
Factoring Services Group is wholly committed to the survival and
success of the independent aftermarket. The future development and
expansion of the independent sector is of critical importance to
the FSG, to its supplier partners and most importantly, to its members.
