Iceland
Supermarket Company Information
About
The Iceland Company
Iceland is a high street supermarket chain with 760 stores across
the UK and Ireland. Over 22,000 people make up the Iceland team,
working to bring great products and great services to our customers
at value-for-money prices.
Iceland stores
are located in busy shopping areas and they are dedicated to making
food shopping fast and easy, pioneering services like Home Delivery
for customers who shop in store. For ultimate convenience, Iceland
shoppers can even order their shopping from home by phone or via
the internet.
Known for their
pedigree in frozen food, Iceland continue to develop innovative
frozen products that save time and money. But many stores offer
much more, from fresh fruit and veg to groceries, wine and beer.
308 Iceland stores also sell home appliances, with specialist teams
ready to help shoppers choose the right fridge or freezer for their
home.
Iceland is famous
for deals, and for the pride they take in their products. Their
own-brand food continues to be made without GM ingredients, artificial
colours or flavours. Added services, like their 'Free From' lists
for allergy sufferers, help people with specific needs to find the
products that are right for them.
Iceland
is part of The Big Food Group, an integrated food group with operations
across food retail, wholesale, foodservice and appliances. They
are continually expanding and, in January 2002, they launched a
Property Search for 80 new stores to open over the next three years.
Not bad for a company that started in 1970 as a single shop selling
loose frozen food!
