About
The Insolvency Helpline Company
The
UK Insolvency Helpline was established in the spring of 1997 with
the remit to look at meeting a long-standing need for debt and credit
advice.
Its
creation followed a recommendation of a national group of Insolvency
Lawyers and Accountants which had been examining the effects of
huge influx of unregulated debt counsellors and debt management
companies that had began trading in the last decade.
The conclusion was reached that a nation-wide network of regulated
professionals should be the chosen representatives to deal with
the public's growing need for debt advice and representation. Working
alongside a growing number of lawyers and accountants representing
the Recognised Professional Bodies (RPBs) who regulate the Insolvency
Practitioners (IPs) and Lawyers, it is winning its plight against
the growing number of profit making organisations whom advertisements
appear in the press and television.
The UK Insolvency Helpline is now the largest professional network
of lawyers and accountants specialising in money advice in the UK.
The
UK Insolvency Helpline exists to promote the provision of independent
money advice from the UK's regulated professional bodies. The UK
Insolvency Helpline works with its professional network to raise
standards in professional money advice for the benefit of customers
in financial hardship.
