The Legal & General Company
The Legal & General Group were established in 1836 and are one
of the United Kingdoms leading financial services companies.
From December 2010, Legal and General were responsible for investing £365 billion worldwide on behalf of investors, policyholders and shareholders. They also had over seven million customers in the United Kingdom for their life assurance, investments, pensions and general insurance plans.
They are one of the biggest providers of index-tracking investments in the UK, managing £228 billion as from December 2010.
Legal & General Assurance Society Limited is highly rated for financial strength amongst United Kingdom insurance companies. Three of the world’s leading independent rating agencies, Standard & Poors, Moody’s and A.M. Best, have currently recognised this.
