National
Counties Building Society Company Information
About
The National Counties Building Society Company
National Counties Building Society is committed to its independent
development as a mutual organisation run for the benefit of its
customers. It is the UK's largest single office building society
and has unrivalled financial strength.
The
origins of National Counties can be traced to 1896 when the Fourth
Post Office Mutual Building Society was established. The Society
pioneered the development of investment accounts by post and in
1972 changed its name to National Counties Building Society to reflect
the country-wide scope of its operations.
From
its Church Street, Epsom headquarters, the Society provides a first
class professional service to around 40,000 customers, throughout
the UK. A branch in Ashley Square, part of Epsom's busy Ashley Shopping
Centre, provides added convenience for customers living and working
locally.
The
Society's efficiency enables it to offer highly attractive investment
and mortgage services and its products regularly appear in "Best
Buy" tables published in the national press and other media.
With Reserves in excess of £96 million and Assets in excess
of £744 million, the Society has the strongest capital ratio
in the Building Society Industry. This provides customers with unrivalled
security.
The
Society's experienced and qualified staff strive to maintain the
highest standards of customer service. An internal complaints procedure
exists with ultimate recourse for dissatisfied customers to the
Financial Ombudsman Service.
