The Nordic Investment Bank Company ( NIB )
The Nordic Investment Bank ( NIB ) is the joint international
financial institution of the Nordic countries.
NIB
can offer its customers, comprising businesses and organisations
in both the private and public sectors, long-term loans on competitive,
commercial terms. NIB can help to finance projects presenting adequate
security and good risk classification, both within and outside the
Nordic area.
Basic
facts
- NIB
finances investment projects and project exports, both in the
Nordic area and outside the Nordic countries. High priority is
given to investments furthering economic co-operation within the
Nordic area.
- NIB's
provision of credits is highly suited to investments which secure
energy supplies, improve the infrastructure or support research
and development.
- Focal
points of the Bank's activities include the neighbouring regions
to the Nordic area, with priority for investment and environmental
loans for private sector projects and loans to national governments
or with governmental guarantees in the in the Baltic states, Poland
and Northwest Russia.
- NIB's
head office is in Helsinki, and the Bank has other offices in
Copenhagen, Oslo, Reykjavik and Stockholm, as well as a representative
office in Singapore.

is a multilateral financial institution and has financed over
a thousand projects since it began operating in 1976.
Mission
& Strategy

Nordic Investment Bank's primary purpose is to promote the growth
of the Nordic economies by means of long-term financing of projects
in the private and public sector.

and the Nordic countries.

bank operates on the basis of sound banking principles, and strives
to create added value for its clients by providing loans which
supplement other financing sources.

participates in the financing of cross-border investments as well

finances projects in the emerging markets outside the Nordic countries.
The Baltic Sea and Barent Sea regions are priority areas for the
bank's operations.
