The Northwest Development Agency Company
The Northwest Development Agency provides strategic leadership,
programmes and funding to ensure the sustainable economic development
and regeneration of Englands Northwest, one of the United
Kingdoms largest and most important regions.
Sub-regions
that they cover are:

- Cumbria
- Greater
Manchester
- Lancashire
- Merseyside
Northwest
Development Agency work closely with a range of partners from the
public, private and voluntary sectors to achieve a number of agreed
objectives set out in a comprehensive economic plan known as the
Regional Strategy.
Projects
and schemes supported and funded by NWDA are largely delivered by
other organisations at sub-regional and local level. The Agency
underpins this process with a growing range of innovative services,
professional expertise and a proactive management based around a
number of inter-linked, operational teams.
Stakeholders
Views of RDAs - Pilot National Survey
The Department for Trade and Industry published a report in July
2003, to provide a clearer understanding of stakeholders views
of RDAs and to measure differences in perceptions of performance
between regions.
The
survey gives a clear picture of the wide-ranging work that the NWDA
is involved in and reports that the NWDA has beaten all targets
set for economic development for the financial year Apr 02
Apr 03.
