About
The OANDA Corporation Company
Founded
in 1995 by economist Richard Olsen and Michael Stumm, OANDA was
created as the Internet arm of Olsen & Associates (O&A),
a leading econometric research and development firm based in Zurich,
Switzerland. O&As products and data are world-renowned
and are in use at over 70 major institutions engaged in the global
financial markets.
OANDA
began to develop, market and support Internet-based currency tools
for consumers and businesses. O&A recognized early that the
explosive global growth in foreign currency trading and Internet
usage would create enormous demand for a single global access point
serving the currency conversion needs of consumers and businesses.
OANDA is a global leader in currency conversion, localization, decision
support, transaction services, and forecasting. As a web-based Business-to-Business
Applications Service Provider (ASP), OANDA services over 13,000
clients globally.
Their
offerings cover 164 currencies and are available in 7 languages.
OANDA has one of the worlds largest historical, high frequency,
filtered currency databases, and is an early pioneer in the development
of proprietary conversion, localisation and forecasting tools.
Partners
OANDA
has entered into strategic distribution, licensing and other relationships
with "Best of Breed" companies such as AOL, Travelocity,
Netscape, Time, Infoseek (Disney), American Express, Air Canada,
British Airways, Sheraton, Cyberian Outpost, iVillage, Ernst &
Young, Nokia, FedEx, Microsoft, DoubleClick, Conde Nast, Virgin
