About
The Ocado Company
If
you were going to create a revolutionary online grocery business,
how would you go about it? Well, ideally, you would start from scratch,
avoiding legacy issues. Then you would build a brand new service
entirely around your customers' needs. You'd make sure this service
delivered Waitrose quality groceries and value for money, directly
to customers' doors in the most reliable way possible. You'd staff
that company with the brightest people in the business and empower
them to look after their customers. In short, you'd create "Supermarket
shopping, the way it should be".
At
Ocado, that's exactly what they have done. They have literally built
a new online grocery service from a blank sheet of paper to address
the needs of busy people.
Ocado was launched in partnership with Waitrose in January 2002
and their service is now available to over 6.24 million households
across the South East and the Midlands with further expansion planned
throughout 2004.
Ocado
Mission
The Ocado mission is to make grocery shopping a highlight of the
week for every Ocado customer.
They
have sought to create an exciting new grocery experience in which
their actions speak louder than their words. Their people are encouraged
and trusted to exceed their own and customers' expectations. Together
they will deliver an unrivalled personal service that surprises
and delights customers everytime, everywhere. Every touch counts.
