Old
Mutual Fund Managers Company Information
About
The Old Mutual Fund Managers Company
Old Mutual Fund Managers ('OMFM') is Old Mutual's UK collective
investment company, offering a range of unit trusts and OEICs investing
in the world's equity, bond and currency markets.
The
management of the investments in the OMFM fund range is conducted
by Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Limited ('OMAM'), a specialist
investment boutique backed by Old Mutual plc, a FTSE 100 company.
OMFM's
fund range is organised around OMAM's seven investment teams: UK
Large Cap, UK Mid and Small Cap, UK Equity Income, Global Markets,
Quantitative Equities, Pan European and Fixed Interest. Each investment
team follows its own distinct process and the key fund managers
can all demonstrate outstanding long term track records across a
range of different market conditions.
These
processes have been developed to cope with the vagaries of different
investment markets, reflecting the different ways in which they
operate and the nature of the research information available. The
processes are based on the belief that financial markets are not
totally efficient and that market inefficiencies are primarily due
to investor biases, making assets subject to misunderstandings and
unjustified optimism or pessimism, creating anomalies which present
attractive investment opportunities. Although the investment processes
are different, each relies upon fundamental analysis, systematic
economic and market research and the early identification of global
investment themes.
