Pearl is now part of Pearl Group Limited which also includes London
Life and NPI.
Pearl was taken over by AMP in 1990 and was the largest takeover
of a British financial institution by an overseas organisation.
In
2003, AMP demerged its UK companies into a group headed by HHG plc.
Pearl, NPI and London Life became part of HHG's Life Services division.
In
2004, the HHG board accepted an offer of over £1 billion for
Life Services. In 2005 Pearl, NPI and London Life became part of
this independently managed UK business, known collectively as Pearl
Group Limited.
