Office Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Mail Group plc
and operates under the Post Office™ brand. Managing a nationwide
network of around 16,500 Post Office branches, they are the largest
Post Office™ network in Europe and the largest retail branch
network in the UK handling more cash than any other business.
Post
Office™ branches are for 'the little things that make the big
things happen' providing products and services that offer value
for money and are valuable to customers' lives.
Their reach means that over 94 percent of people live within a mile
of a Post Office™ branch and often visit them more than once
a week - that’s about 41 million customer visits.
Around
550 Post Office™ branches are managed directly by Post Office
Ltd. The remaining branches are managed on an agency basis either
by subpostmasters/mistresses or franchise partners. Some of their
franchise partners include Tesco, SPAR and Londis.
Through
their network, Post Office sell around 170 products and services.
Of the 2.7 billion transactions we carry out each year, the majority
are for banking, leisure and postal services. Every year more than
500 million household bills are paid over our counters, over a million
travel insurance policies are sold, and we are now the biggest provider
of foreign currency in Britain.
Post
Office Ltd is one of the three arms that make up the Royal Mail
Group, along with Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide. Post Office
Ltd's Chief Executive and non-executive Chairman sit on the Group’s
management board.
