About
The Stafford Railway Building Society Company
The
Stafford Railway Building Society was formed by the London and North
Western Railway Company, whose principle office in 1877 was in Stafford.
Originally to take savings and to lend mortgages to the employees
of the railway company as well as local townspeople in Stafford,
it conducted business throughout the UK from its inception.
Stafford Railway Building Society also has strong roots in the Stafford
community and over the last 100 years has been managed by a board
of directors with long and distinguished traditions of family business
in the Stafford area.
Formed
with strong mutual principles, the concept of savers and borrowers
being "members" rather than "customers" remains
today.
