are 31 member banks and building societies involved with Switch
offering direct access to your current account 24 hours a day.

The
Switch card is swiped through the retailer's terminal and this then
electronically records details of the transaction and the card and
then seeks authorisation - all within 5 seconds. The retailer's
bank collects the daily transactions from the terminal and transfers
the data to your bank via SwitchNet and then your account is automatically
debited within a few days.
Switch
is now accepted by over 650,690 outlets in the U.K!
