About
The Teachers Provident Society Company
Teachers Provident Society was established in 1877 and is now the
fifth largest friendly society in the UK. They manage over £836
million (as at February 2004) on behalf of their customers.
Teachers Provident Society was established as a friendly society
to provide sick pay, annuities and endowments for people in the
education profession, in a time when teachers received no financial
help – such as pensions – from the Government. By providing
schemes that everyone could afford they established a financial
bedrock upon which people could plan for a dependable future.
127
years on and a lot has changed. Teachers Provident Society now offer
a wide range of financial products and services to meet the ever
developing needs of their customers from all walks of life. While
products and services may have moved on from 1877, their values
have remained the same. They continue to aim to provide understandable
and beneficial offerings to their customers; supported by approachable
and dependable customer service.
