The
Food Ferry Supermarket Company Information
About
The Food Ferry Company
In
1989 a busy man needed some food, he had friends coming round that
evening and he went to his local supermarket. Normally he could
not stand the hassle and queues there, but he had no option. He
waited in line and an hour later he struggled home and started cooking.
Then he thought "there must be a better way...all that wasted
time...surely .. couldn't it be deliv...?". He checked the
directories, there was no such service. He called his lawyer friend
and together they hatched a plan. The plan took shape and became
a reality and on 13th August 1990 the UK's first dedicated grocery
home-shopping orders were delivered.
The reality was The Food Ferry. The founders were Jonathan Hartnell-Beavis
and James Millar and together they created a little bit of UK retailing
history.
With more than 10 years dedicated home-shopping under its belt,
a thriving and loyal customer-base, a focussed range of excellent
food and drink, compelling customer service, a straightforward ordering
web-site and an indomitable pioneering spirit, foodferry brings
grocery home-shopping through the front door of its customers right
across London every day and right across the UK too.
