The uSwitch Company
uSwitch is a free, impartial comparison and switching service that
helps customers compare prices on a range of services including
electricity, gas, home phone, broadband providers and personal finance
products.
The aim of uSwitch aim is to help customers take advantage of the
best prices and services on offer from suppliers. They have developed
a series of calculators that evaluate a number of key factors including
price, location, service and payment method, and advises customers
on the best deal to suit their needs.
uSwitch
was ranked the Number One Website in the 'Business and Finance –
Utilities' category throughout 2006 and 2007. The website has also
received two Hitwise Top Ten Awards, the first in the category of
'Business and Finance – Telecommunications' for July –
September 2007, and the second for 'Business and Finance –
Utilities' for the October – December 2007 quarter. The Hitwise
Number One and Top Ten Awards Programmes recognise online leaders
from over 160 industries.
uSwitch.com
was bought by United States company, The E.W. Scripps Company (NYSE:
SSP) in March 2006. Scripps is a diverse and growing media enterprise
with interests in national cable networks, newspaper publishing,
broadcast television stations, licensing and syndication, electronic
commerce and interactive media.
